Artist Biography - Melanie Martinez

Melanie Martinez born 28th April 1995, is an American singer, songwriter, music video director and photographer. She was borns in Queens but was brought up in New York Long Island, she first participated in the MSG Varsity Talent Show during her Junior Year of high school. She then appeared on The Voice where she auditioned with her own original version of Britney Spears 'Toxic' and made it to the Top 6 before being eliminated in the fifth week of the live shows.
Immediately after her departure from the show she began independent work on original material as she was a fan favourite, she was heavily supported and produced her first music video "Dollhouse" which is still her second most famous single at the moment. From this she then signed a contract with Atlantic records, which then allowed her to release her debut EP, Dollhouse in 2014. In 2015 she released her first album "Cry Baby" which was certified gold by the RIAA. Her second album is expected to be released in 2018.
