Updates Location research
From places we have filmed in and places we plan to film in through our new ending we have found that we now need a few new locations, and that when we were in London on the 20th although we had set locations we went to a few other places as well on the way from locations.
Covent Garden -
As a group we had decided that on the way home we would take a trip to Covent Garden as we hadn't got as much footage as we had wanted. We also found that when we got there that there was a lot of filming opportunities and we found that we had got a lot footage from the area. It was a very aesthetically pleasing area and we thought would appeal to our target audience as it also worked with rest of our video and locations. Whilst we were there we had sat down for a drink at a restaurant and filmed a scene there and also filmed a scene in the street where there were bench swings with flowers covering the sides and roof of the bench.
Oxford Street -
We also filmed in Oxford street for a last minute journey, the shots that we took there were in the dark. We thought that since we were in London and it is a well-known area this may appeal to our target audience as they may know the area of where it is being filmed as well as our other locations. There was also a lot of lights and it gave us some more footage from our London trip even if we didn't use the filming it was something else we could potentially put in our video.
The ending of our Narrative -
For the end of our narrative, we have linked the storyline more to the lyrics of the three friends that have been consistently together in different locations throughout the music video. We have changed the ending to: all three friends end up hugging and then pulling away and going separate ways while dragging there suitcases along, showing that they are leaving. As a group we decided this would be a good idea to use as one of our last scenes as the lyrics to the song is about someone leaving so this would give the impression that they are saying goodbye. After placing all of our other filming into Final Cut except a few clips we have left enough space at the end of our video for our ending.
Rochester -
We chose Rochester as another location as it is nearby as it is very close similar to Dockside, which is convenient for us as a group. Its a quite historical place and has quite a few different places that appeal to the eye and we can film at.

Changing the ending of our narrative
We decided that we wanted to change the ending of our narrative, because we found that it didn't have a lot of context or depth to it, so we wanted to change it so that the song has more of a story to it. In the end we decided to finish in Winter Wonderland and then fade into a shot of the three characters hugging each other which will be when the final lyrics of the song "will you hold me tight and not let go?" play. We then want to have three separate clips of where one character packs there suitcases, another pulls their suitcase out of the door and the last puts their suitcase in the boot of their car before closing it and the video ends. We chose this as at the end of this school year we will be going our separate ways whether that be university or travelling etc.
I think that this will be a lot better for our music video as it will give our song more of a storyline as before hand it didn't have a very good ending and wouldn't make sense. However, the ending we will be filming works well with the song as the lyrics have a rather sad ending which will counteract with our new storyline.

Changing from iMovie to Final cut Pro
In a first year of media we were taught how to use iMovie to complete our Thriller opening. But, this year Apple has released Final Cut Pro, as a group we decided we would rather use the new app that has been released as it had new filters and transitions and had more to our video this year and improve on our technical skills.
Although, when we chose Final cut we initially didn't know how to use we found it fairly easy to grasp as we found it was very similar to iMovie but a few things were in different places so we had to relearn a few things but managed to get used to the app quite quickly.
After watching some tutorials on youtube, taking advice from our teachers and practising, now as a group we feel confident with the software and have found that it has been more beneficial that if we were to use iMovie. The transitions, effects, and the colour/saturation/exposure are better quality and have given us more opportunities to improve and enhance our footage whilst we have been editing.

Dockside changes
Unfortunately because of work and having time Jasmine was not able to join Paige and I when we were going to film in Dockside, so as Paige and I were going to see a film at the cinema in Dockside we may as well film whilst we were there. However, we found when we got to Dockside it was too late in the day so it was already starting to get dark and there wasn't as many places to film as we initially thought so weren't actually able to get any good shots while we there, as there was only the restaurants but we have already filmed at a restaurant in Covent Garden.
As a group we decided to choose a different location and do some filming because we would rather travel a bit further and be able to get the footage that we need for our video.
