The original video is based off of the story line of the lyrics as they talk about how 'if you weren't born with it' suggesting that if your weren't born noticeably pretty that you should basically change yourself to how other people think would look good so you can change who you are to try and be the person in the magazine. However, what a lot of people do not realise is the amount of photo shopping even the prettiest person has had before their picture is even published because the people who make those magazines don't want others to realise that no one is perfect. We live in a society that aspire to be something that isn't real we want what we can't have. You see a lot of celebrities when they get to a certain age start to use things such as bot ox, lip fillers, face lifts etc. They do this because they are afraid of getting old or having personal insecurities that they believe that plastic surgery could fix, in the society we live in it is so rare that someone feels comfortable in their own skin and with who they are. This song is a great representation on how other peoples opinions and peer pressure can effect others and the lengths some are willing to go to make that person happy when its not them who has to live with the potential damage it could do. 'Is it true pain is beauty? Does a new face come with a warranty? Will a pretty face make it better?' These questions are what a lot of people think everyday, if i change will it make a difference, will it make someone like me more because I've got bigger lips or a more refined nose. The song really does represent how the majority of people feel in today's society as everyone wants to improve in one way or another even if they are confident it doesnt stop them from having insecurities. As an individual i can relate to this song as a teenage girl growing up in a very judgemental society its hard not to have insecurities so for me to do this song it does have a personal element to it as a group we can show perception of the song and show a new version of the song and in a different light.
